At this stage, it’s critical to factually document the harm being done across such a wide area.
Top Priority: File a Noise Complaint with City of Colorado Springs
- Use the GoCOS! website or app (free in App Stores) to report noise complaints to the City of Colorado Springs (who is issuing the permit that allows this level of noise to occur).
- Ford Amphitheater's address is 80 Spectrum Loop. Be sure to also include your street name in the complaint so the city can understand specific areas being impacted
- Optional items to include:
- Use Google Maps to measure the straight line distance from your location to the Ford Ampitheater
- Download a free decibel measurement app for your smartphone that can measure the noise level you are experiencing
- You may also be interested to visit AmphitheaterComplaints.com that is seeking to compile data on this topic & share it with the city and/or the crowdsourced noise map that is compiling information on affected areas
Second Priority: Share Your Noise Videos Here
- J.W. Roth, founder of the Ford Amphitheater, says he's seeking to gather more information about what kind of noise the amphitheater is generating: "My job is to get the facts and then present those facts. And, if there's things I can do to mitigate issues, that's the first thing I'm going to do."
- Let's help out on that need & hold him to that promise by compiling all of the phone videos that have been taken documenting these noise disruptions, both indoors and out. Upload your noise video through the form on the right side of this page.
- Don't include anything in the video or text description that you wouldn't want on a public website.
- With hopes of avoiding duplicative efforts and leveraging social media virality, notable videos uploaded here are being posted on the existing Northside Neighbors Instagram account focused on this topic.
